Dr Mikael Sodergren
Biography
Dr Mikael Sodergren MBChB (Hons), DIC, PhD, FRCS is the Chief Medical Officer at Curaleaf International where he leads the pre-clinical and clinical medical cannabis research programmes in Europe and is responsible for the cannabis clinic rollout across the continent. Dr Sodergren founded Sapphire Medical Clinics (now rebranded Curaleaf Clinics), which was the first specialised medical cannabis clinic approved by regulators in the UK. He is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Consultant Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgeon at Imperial College London where he leads the Medical Cannabis Research Group – a research group which evaluates and develops novel therapies targeting the endocannabinoid system through a framework of in vitro, in vivo, and clinical translational activities.
